The Palm Springs Wild West Fest and Mayor Frank Bogert Memorial PRCA Rodeo is western themed event that is coming back to Palm Springs on March 25, 2011. This three day event includes a professional rodeo, 6,000 square feet of high – end western themed retail vendors, free live music, carnival rides for the kids and a host of special performances and activities. “It's like cowboy Christmas,” local business owner and rodeo enthusiast Sig Hall said.
The event is located on a 10 – acres site next to the Palm Springs Convention Center and runs from March 25 – 27th. The three day event is named for Palm Springs' iconic cowboy, renaissance man and mayor, Frank Bogert, who helped brand the city a “cowboy Mecca” in the 1930s and '40s.
Along with general admission, there is a VIP tent that includes not only preferred seating but a fantastic array of food, wine and other beverages. Last year the West Fest drew as many as 9,000 visitors, and the ticketed rodeo was “sold out” to more than 12,000 spectators during the course of the three day event. So put on your boots and cowboy hats and join the fun.
